E-Luminate FAQs
How do I add a grower?
This is done within CropEdge. A User must add their growers into their CropEdge account first, then they can click the refresh button beside the grower box on the Grower Accounts page, where their grower list will then begin to populate.
What are the different options for drawing in a field boundary?
You can manually draw in a field boundary using the pencil tool, import an existing boundary through a shapefile, use the pivot tool or existing CLU boundaries.
I have shapefiles from My John Deere. Can I import those into E-Luminate?
Yes! This can be done by navigating to the Grower Accounts page, selecting an existing grower from the User’s list, and selecting “Import Field Tree”. If this option is greyed out and you have an option to go to the Solution Guide, there are already existing shapefiles in the account and you cannot import a new Farm Field Tree unless you want to delete those existing shapes and import new Farm Field Trees. You can import My John Deere and Land.db shapefiles into E-Luminate. These must be zipped files.
Can I change my acres after identifying a field boundary if they are not correct?
Yes, simply override the acres by typing in the Acres box located on the lower left-hand side of page, just under Field Name.
What if I don’t have all the information for the Field Properties tab?
You can fill in as much or as little information on this tab as you wish.
Where do I find the Seed Selector Tool?
Select a grower (that already has fields mapped out) from within the Grower Accounts page and click the button at the bottom of the page, titled “Solution Guide”. You’ll then be brought to the field plan summary page, where you can then find the “Seed Selector” link in the middle of the page.
What does the Seed Selector Tool do?
The Seed Selector tool is a tool to assist Agronomists and Seed Advisors in making an initial recommendation based on trial data. The seed results are organized by ranking based on the geographic location of the field, maturity range, soil factors, weather factors and water management. Utilize the tool in addition to the knowledge and recommendations from your local experts to find your best hybrid for that specific area.
What are the Green, Yellow, Orange, Red and Blue boxes across the top on the Seed Selector Tool?
Each tile is representative of various weather scenarios that has occurred within this field’s region, including its frequency of each scenario, since 2000-2001. When selected, it averages the years indicated for that stress info and arranges the hybrids based on best performing to not as adequate performances based on field trial data within the selected weather scenario.
Do I have to pick a specific weather scenario?
No, you can do a balanced recommendation which considers all the scenarios given their respective frequencies.
Can I filter my Relative Maturity range?
Yes, located on the left-hand side of the Seed Selector Tool you will find a “Narrow your results” option where you can get more specific as to what maturity range you’d like.
Can I compare hybrids to one another?
Yes, utilize the ‘Compare Seeds’ option located in the upper right-hand corner of the Seed Selector tool. You can also select the ‘Compare’ box located in the lower left-hand corner of each individual hybrid, once the second option is selected the seed comparison box will pop up.
What is the ranking meter representing within each hybrid box?
The ranking meter indicates the hybrids performance based on the average or specific weather scenario selected. The further to the right, the better the performance and the further to the left, the less adequate the performance.
Why is the hybrid box grayed out?
It simply means there is not adequate data to back up the hybrid for the given weather scenario selected.
How do I get to where I can download a PDF of a field recommendation?
Once on the Solution Guide page, click the ‘Rate Calculator’ option at the bottom of the screen. Once there, add a planting population and applied acres for the seed(s) selected and/or add a competitive seed. You can then switch to other fields to input their rates and applied acres at the top of the screen. Once finished, click the ‘Save and Download PDF’ button at the bottom of the screen.
Why won’t the PDF open when I hit ‘Save And Download PDF’?
Check in the URL box (at the top of the web page) and see if there is a small red box in the far-right side. Click on the red box and hit ‘always allow’ and then ‘save’. Hit ‘Save And Download PDF’ again which should allow your PDF to be successfully downloaded.
Where is the Quote tool located?
On the Solution Guide page, located at the bottom will be an option for ‘Quote’. Upon clicking on it, it will bring you to a new page where you can identify the seed treatment per each seed being recommended and then will allow you to input how many paper bags and/or cubits you wish to order. Clicking ‘Send to CropEdge’ will then send this quote directly to your CropEdge account. Sign into your CropEdge account to further configure this quote.
What if I have questions about the quote once it is sent out from E-Luminate to CropEdge?
Contact your Customer Account Specialist (CAS) for support relating to CropEdge.
Where can I find the Custom Catalog?
On the main landing page for E-Luminate, there is a direct link for the Custom Catalog.
After clicking on “Custom Catalog” how do I get one created?

Hit “Next” in the lower right-hand corner and it will walk you through the steps on the left-hand side of the screen to complete the Custom Catalog.
How do I select products once on the product selection page within the Custom Catalog?
Across the top you will see three dropdowns, select corn or soybeans. Choose your brand. “Default” on the right side is a previously saved plan. Once you chose your crop and brand, seed options will populate. You can choose one to five options and then hit “Next” in the lower right-hand corner to proceed.
What are the Attributes?
Attributes are characteristics you can select to determine specific hybrid ratings based of which you choose; you can choose one to twenty-four of these. The categories consist of Plant Characteristics, Development rates/units, Abiotic Stress, Disease, Rotation, Soil Characteristics, Planting Population, Quality, Fungicide Timing, and Silage.
How are the Competitors chosen?
The competitors are chosen based off which Golden Harvest or Enogen hybrids you select for your marked zip code. As with Products, you can select one to five competitors to compare against the chosen Golden Harvest or Enogen hybrids chosen earlier.
There’s a competitive seed I don’t want to have showing anywhere, how I can I turn that off?
Navigate to the User Settings tab at the top of the page. Click on the option “Competitors” on the bottom left side of the pop-up screen, and de-select the seed(s) that you wish to have removed.
Can I customize the Report?
Yes, anywhere you see an orange pencil icon, you can edit the information. The cover page allows you to personalize it as well. The “Corn Local Positioning” allows you to edit the “Local Positioning” statements. You will also see areas for “Notes” where you can add notes/comments.

To download the report simply click “Download.” If it is your first time, it is likely a pop-up blocker will block the report. Go to the top and on the right side of the URL bar you will see a red box, click on it and save the settings to “always allow.”
Is there an option to print a report with less color?
Yes, on the right-hand side under “Publish” you will see a “Low Ink Version.” Select the box and then it will print without the background images to save on ink.
I’m not seeing any of the data I’ve entered in web on my mobile device, what’s going on?
First, make sure that your web account is connected to mobile. Navigate up to the User Settings tab at the top of the page, select Profile on the left side and click “Connect Account” and enter your AgX account information. Then, sync your mobile device by clicking on the sync wheel on the bottom right side.
How do I get a grower’s account set up to pull in data from My John Deere?
If you have previously connected with your AgX account prior to the Connect Telematics update (for mobile purposes), navigate to user settings > profile and disconnect and reconnect your AgX account. This will allow field data layers to flow freely.
- Connecting Telematics allows a grower to share their John Deere data with the Seed Advisor, such as yield data, as applied data, etc. The grower will need to have a My John Deere account that they utilize for this feature to be useful. A valid e-mail address must be on the grower accounts page to make this feature work properly. You can edit those fields if it is not entered already. This data will appear in the “Decision Hub” section accessible from the home page.
- When connecting Telematics, you will have 3 options to choose from:
- Send email- send an email to the grower with a link to click on that will allow them to log in to the JD Ops Center
- Direct Connect- if sitting with a grower, you can click this option and go directly into the JD Ops Center
- Copy invitation URL- just an option to copy the link you sent to the grower if you need to resend or copy/paste it into a URL
