John Deere Raw Data files now available for import with Land.db Connect
Choose between John Deere Raw Data Files and MyJohnDeere Processed Data when creating an integration.
Processed Data was the first integration available. Processed Data includes other machine data from AgLeader, Raven, and Precision Planting. The files are preprocessed by John Deere and can be aggregated over several days. These files do not include applicator, fuel, product ID or equipment.
Raw Data Files are only John Deere files. These records are more accurate for reporting. If available from the monitor, they include fuel, applicator, equipment, product IDs for system matching. Tillage records are also available like planting, spraying/spreading and harvesting.
Delete and recreate an integration
All current integrations have been previously created as Processed Data integrations. To change to a Raw Data integration, delete the current integration using the red X, then select Create New to start a new one.
Setting the integration date
When recreating the new Raw Data integration, it is important to not duplicate the data previously pulled by the Processed Data integration. It is important to set the start date to the current day or remove all the pending records from Connect before creating.
This date field is auto set to 60 days prior. By typing, or selecting the calendar option, set the date to import the records into Connect.
New data points from Raw Data records
Raw Data files provide additional data points to import with the records. When available from the equipment, the record will display an Applicator Name and Equipment Name that can be matched and imported with the record. If these are not available, they will not be displayed, and the matching box will be greyed out.
Applicator and Equipment matching are both optional items and not required to be matched before completing. Once matched to the incoming name, the match will be saved for future records.
Additional data with a raw data integration includes fuel information and Tillage records. If the equipment records the fuel used in an application and it is available, the Fuel used will show as a product in the record. This can be ignored and not import into Land.db. If ignored, it will display in the notes of the record. If Tillage applications are recorded, these will show as products in a record that can be matched and associated to a field as a record.
Adding an Applicator in Connect
If the Applicator is not in the list when searching, they can be created in the Applicator drop down by selecting Add Applicator. After adding the applicator, search and match them to the incoming data name. This will add the applicator in the Land.db database as well for that crop year. All records with a matched applicator that are imported will display the applicator on the record under the Production > Applications tab. Matching the applicator is optional and not required to be completed before importing the record.
Adding Equipment for Connect
If the equipment name that performed the application is available in the raw data file, it will be displayed in Connect to match to a piece of equipment in Land.db. In the Incoming Data field, the equipment serial number will be displayed. To be able to search and match the equipment in Connect it must first be added to the database in Land.db under the Resources > Equipment tab. Once it is matched and imported into Land.db the matched equipment will display in the Notes section of the application record. Matching the equipment is optional and not required to be completed before importing the record.
Aggregated Files from Raw Data
Raw data files from John Deere can often be presented as smaller chunks of data. The below pictures represent three chunks of data from an application that were broken up in the data feed. The files will aggregate if the application took place within a 12-hour window with the same products on the same field.
After the products and field are matched, the records will become complete-able and are available to import. The records will then start to aggregate in the system. Refresh the web browser to see the updated records with the aggregated acres, products, and coverage shape. The aggregated record is then available to import into Land.db.
