This article will walk you through how to manually grant permissions to a new user for your database and then walks the new user through accepting the granted permission. In order to grant permissions to a database, you must be the owner or an administrator on the database.
Within Google Chrome browser, navigate to www.landdb.com. Once you are logged in, navigate to Manage Data Access within the menu drop down in the upper right corner.
Within the Data Sources tab, click Select a data source and choose the database you are going to share permissions out to a new user.
After the selecting your database, click back on the drop down menu and select Add Permission.
Fill in Name and Email that the user registered with when signing up with Land.db. Nothing is required for Company. Then select the appropriate Crop Years you wish to grant to the new user. Finally within the Control drop down, select Administrator, Full or Partial, and then select Grant Permission. Below is an outline of each permission level type.
Administrator
This permission level allows the user to have full access to add, edit and remove any data for the crop years they were granted access for. The users is able to use the Land.db desktop client, Land.db web (www.landdb.com) and the Land.db iOS app. Administrators have the ability to also create a new crop year and grant permissions out to new users for their database.
Full Control
This permission level allows the user to have full add, edit and remove functionality with any data for the crop years they were granted access for. The user is able to use the Land.db desktop client, Land.db web (www.landdb.com) and the Land.db iOS app.
Partial Control
This permission level allows the user to only see the Farm Field tree within the Land tab and by default, will not see any records within the Production menu, such as plans, recommendations, work orders, applications and invoices. They can only see a record within the Production menu if an administrator of the database selects a Production record and selects the Share button to share that record to the partial control user. The partial control user can then view that record. Partial control users only have access to Land.db web (www.landdb.com) and the Land.db iOS app.
Accepting the Permission as New User
The new user will need to navigate to www.landdb.com within Google Chrome browser. If the user does not have a Land.db user account, then click here to view instructions on creating their user account. Once logged in as the new user being assigned the permissions, navigate to Manage Data Access in the drop down menu in the upper right corner.
Click on the Permissions tab.
Click on Pending Permissions and then the Database permissions will load underneath the Pending Permissions. Click the Options button next to the Data Source that you want to accept permissions for and then select Accept.
Once the permissions have been accepted, then that user will be able to access the database in Land.db client, Land.db web, or the Land.db iOS app, pending what permission level they were granted. For a user granted administrator or full control access, they will need to restart Land.db client in order to select the database in the top center of the screen.
Syngenta Digital Support team can also facilitate the request of granting database access to new users which does not require a new user to accept the granted permission, but the permissions can be automatically assigned instead.
