Starting a new Crop Year in Land.db
*You must be an owner or administrator of a database to start a new crop year.
Within the Google Chrome browser, navigate to Land.db Web, www.landdb.com. If you do not have Google Chrome, download it from here.
Select the database at the top left-hand corner and navigate to Add a crop year.
Within the From 20xx left side panel, select the check box next to Home to select every farm and field, or manually select which farms and fields to carry over to the new year.
Select the Gear icon to then designate if you wish to move selected fields only over to the new crop year or move selected fields, crops and tags.
- Choose move selected fields only if you have rotational crops and will have new crop assignments for your fields within the new crop year.
- Choose move selected fields, crops, and tags if you have perennial crops or if you have pivot and dry corner boundaries identified within crop zones that you wish to retain.
The right-hand panel will contain the new crop year being created and display the farms, fields and any cropzones that are going to be brought over to the new year.
Select the green Complete button at the bottom right-hand corner to create your new crop year.
Creating a new Crop Year takes on average 10 to 15 minutes to process on the server until it is available within Land.db Client and Web. Land.db Client must be restarted to see the new Crop Year.
Once your new crop year is started, crop rotations will need to be assigned for any fields that were carried over without cropzones. Click here to view an article on how to assign crops in Land.db.
