There are two methods on how to input pivots and dry corners within your Farm Field Tree within Land.db, field boundaries containing only the pivot area and field boundaries containing both pivot and dry corner areas.
Pivot as Entire Area for Field Boundary
First, select the field that you have not drawn out yet and then within the Land > Map page, zoom into the field area that contains the pivot.
Next, select the Tools button and choose the Draw Pivot option.
First, identify the size of the pivot either by inputting the Radius (FT) or the Area (AC). Once this information has been captured, select the center point button and then within the satellite imagery, click where the center point of the pivot belongs.
Once the pivot boundary is displayed, you can now scale the size of the pivot by clicking and holding upon the button at the bottom left hand corner of the pivot boundary. You can also adjust the area of the pivot by inputting a different Radius (FT) or Area (AC) and then click off the area you just changed the value for. Once you have finished editing your pivot, click the Save button at the bottom right corner.
Once saved, you are now ready to assign a crop to the pivot field.

Pivot and Dry Corners as Entire Area for Field Boundary
First, select the field that you have not drawn out yet and then within the Land > Map page, zoom into the field area that contains the pivot.
Next, identify the field boundary which includes both the pivot and dry corners. In this example, we will manually draw out the field boundary by clicking the pencil icon and outlining the field. If you have a shapefile you would like to import, click here to view the article about this topic.
With the field boundary now identified, navigate to the Tools button and then select Split Into Crop Zones option within the list.
Within the Split Into Crop Zones page, select the Pivot Tool menu on the right side of the screen and then input your Pivot Radius in feet or input your desire acreage within Area. Next, select the Set Pivot Center button until you see Draw Pivot appear in the action box at the top left hand corner. Once this is completed, now click within the satellite imagery where the center of the pivot will be located.
Once the pivot boundary has been adjusted, you can now perform additional splits within the field if needed by using the slicer tool at the top of the screen. After selecting the slicer button, click outside the field boundary to begin identifying the origin of the field slice and then double click outside the field boundary on the opposite site to finish identifying the slice. Repeat this process for as many slices needed.
Once slices have been identified, if needed, then we are ready to begin assigning crops to the various areas within our field boundary by clicking the Assign Crops button at the top right corner. In the example below, are proceeding without any additional splits.
You will now see a list of the crop zones that were created from your field splits. If any of the crop zones needed to be combined, then expand the Merge Shape Tool menu, select which crop zones you would like to merge and then select the Merge Shapes button.
Next, we will select the available crop zones from the top to the bottom in order to assign a crop to that area. To easily identify which area we are assigning a crop to, pan the satellite imagery where the field boundaries are on the edge of your screen.
Next, we will choose a crop from the Crop drop down list. When a crop is selected, it will auto-populate the crop name with the crop selected. When identifying pivots and dry corners, it is best practice to add Pivot and Dry Corners, for example, within the name of the crop zone. Once this information has been captured, select the Add Crop Zone button. Note that if this crop zone does not need to be included in your Farm Field tree, select the No Crop Zone button.
We can now see the first crop zone has a crop assigned and no longer has Pending listed next to it. We will now assign the crop to our last Pending crop zone. In the example below, we will had Pivot to the crop zone name.
All crop zones are now assigned to a crop and we can now select the Finish button to complete our changes.
Within the example below, we can now see two crop zones within the Y07 field, Dry Corners - Corn and Pivot - Corn.
We also have a tutorial video reviewing how to map out pivots and dry corners, which is listed below.
