Satellite imagery can be utilized to auto-generate zones based on vegetation index values in the field for a tailored prescription. Zones can be merged or drawn while looking at the satellite imagery to create a custom variable rate recommendation. To start, navigate to Prescriptions within the menu and select the Create prescription button.
Next, select the desired field either via the drop down box or clicking within a field boundary. Choose Seeding, Crop protection or Fertilizer as the Prescription type. The management zones can be created either By Color or they can be Hand drawn. Lastly, select the Next button.
Management Zones by Color
First type in the product name and then select the desired Color palette. Predefined color palettes are available from 3 to 8 color divisions to select from. A Custom palette can also be created based off of that field's histogram for the selected image.
Each unique management zone can be adjusted for a desired index value range. Management zones can be removed and new ones added by using the - and + buttons. With a Color palette identified, select the Generate zones button.
Zones can also be merged into another zone by first selecting a zone and then lastly selecting the zone to be merged with.
Hand-drawn Management Zones
Numerous tools are available with hand-drawn management zones:
Creates a polygon shaped zone
Creates a circle shaped zone
Removes polygon outlined area from being included in the prescriptions
Removes circle outlined area from being included in the prescriptions
Undo previous action
Deletes all zones
Once zones are created either by color or hand-drawn, select the desired Zone rates, identify the rates per each zone and select the Create prescription button when finished.
Once the prescription is created, it will now be available for viewing. Selecting the more options button provides the ability to Download Shapefile, Download CSV, Edit, Duplicate and Delete prescription.
Note: The selected Date range is based on the date a prescription was created and may need to be adjusted in case if any prescriptions are not visible.
