Satellite imagery can be utilized to generate management zones based on vegetation index values in the field for a tailored prescription. Zones can be merged or drawn while looking at the satellite imagery to create a custom variable rate recommendation. To start, navigate to Prescriptions within the menu and select Create prescription.

Next, select the desired field either via the drop-down box or clicking within a field boundary. Choose Seeding, Crop protection or Fertilizer as the Prescription type. The management zones can be created either By Color or they can be Hand drawn. Last, select Next to continue in the process.

Management Zones by Color

First, type in or select the Product name and enter additional product details, as necessary.

Next, select the desired Color palette to define the number of management zones desired. Predefined color palettes are available from 3 to 8 color divisions to select from. After choosing the desired color palette, continue by selecting Generate zones.

A Custom palette can also be created based off the histogram for the selected image. Management zones can be removed, and new ones added by using the - and + buttons. With a Color palette identified, select Generate zones.

Management zones can also be merged into another zone by first selecting a zone and then selecting the zone to be merged with.

Hand-drawn Management Zones

Multiple tools are available to utilize when creating hand-drawn management zones:

New Polygon.png Creates a polygon shaped zone

New Circle.png Creates a circle shaped zone

Remove Polygon.png Removes polygon outlined area from being included in the prescriptions

Remove Circle.png Removes circle outlined area from being included in the prescriptions

Undo previous action

Delete Zones.png Deletes all zones

Management Zone Product Rate Information

Once zones are created, select the desired Zone rates, enter the desired product rates per each zone and select Create prescription when finished.

Once the prescription is created, it will now be available for viewing. Selecting the more options button provides the ability to Download Shapefile, Download CSV, Edit, Duplicate and Delete prescription.

Note: The selected Date range is based on the date a prescription was created and may need to be adjusted in case if any prescriptions are not visible.
